Practicum positions are for students enrolled in graduate programs in a mental health field whose programs require direct clinical work. These positions require approval from the student's graduate program. These practicum positions are generally 9 to 12 months in length.
Our non-clinical internships are intended for undergraduates & recent college graduates. The ability to earn college credit for your internship varies by college/university. Internship positions are generally 12 weeks long.
For practicum students and non-clinical interns, these programs are fully remote.
For our postdoctoral psychological associates, these are technically hybrid positions, though they are mainly remote. The California Board of Psychology (BOP) will likely require in-person supervision to resume in the near future, so we are only bringing on individuals who live within driving distance of Los Angeles -- where the primary supervisors for our postdocs reside.
Unfortunately, the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) does not allow MFT students to complete their practicum training in private practice settings.
California Women's Therapy is not a nonprofit organization. However, our founder, Dr. Jordyn Trockman, is also the founder and president of a nonprofit organization, Psychologists of Color, Inc. (www.psychologistsofcolor.com).
